Giving Credit where Credit is Due

First, as an update to my soup debacle, I went to have some yesterday and the entire tupperware broke and exploded all over me. So that was a fun ending to that story.

Anywho!

On Tuesday night, I went to a nice dinner with a couple friends to say goodbye to one of them who is moving to Denver. Past tense actually. She moved to Denver yesterday. Which is bittersweet, but not the story in the spotlight today.

To pay for our lovely dinner, I said yes to three hours of babysitting for an Upper East Side family last night. So I went to work until 4, hit the gym, and headed uptown to be tortured for the next few hours. I endured the two boys using me as a drum (yes, they had sticks), about an hour of tag, where, no matter what I did, I was always it, played countless made up games with made up rules, and helped with some homework. During these activities, we used tape, markers, glue, crayons, and several pieces of paper.

I left $75 richer, albeit not breaking even after paying for the dinner, and I hopped on the subway to get back home. I rode the Q from 86th to 14th and got to read a couple chapters in Take Me Home (currently reading). I took in my surroundings, felt safe, saw a cute-ish boy, and continued on. I got off at 14th and headed to the L, with the cute boy following. We got onto the same car. Now, this was me post work, post gym, post some free (paid?) birth control. I didn’t look my best, but I’ve definitely looked worse. Dating in New York is at least a month of blog posts in itself, but let’s just say that the days I get to steal some glances on a subway car are pretty thrilling. I got off at 1st; he stayed on unfortunately.

I get home, take off my coat, go to my room, and, to my enjoyment, and now I’m sure all of yours, I found a piece of paper stuck to my butt with tape. Luckily, there was no note attached. To my credit, I laughed at it and gave Miles an imaginary high five. As my friend told me, “that’s kinda a fun ~Carrie in the Sex in the City ~ moment” for me.

About Me

Welcome! I’ve decided to join in the fun this year and try my hand at writing a little something every day for the month of March. HOPEFULLY, it’ll instill a pattern and I’ll continue on.

I am currently living in New York City and excited to share daily moments inspired by NYC!
